Hey btw, have you been keeping up with Kim Harrison and Rachel Morgan? Pale Demon comes out in just days. the 22nd I think. She’s got 5 chapters up on her site. I don’t know of any book signing tour on the west coast, but it’s coming I’m sure. The book sounds good!

That is a good question! As webmaster for Rice Bowl Journals, I’ve recently been going thru the RBJ directory and cleaning it all up manually. I’ve been deleting so many blogs that have just been abandoned.

So, I have noticed a mass exodus from the blogging world in favor of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

But…

There are still the dedicated ones who have been blogging or writing all this time, and they should be commended. You can find them on The List.

Well, there are two things you can do–agree to disagree, and not talk about it, and figure out why you two are friends in the first place. Or, you can just not be her friend and go on your happy way.

Honestly, though, I do think it’s good to have friends who don’t agree with you politically, to give you a reality check that not everyone thinks the same way you do–and that people can be friends (and more) with someone who doesn’t agree with them politically.

I “stumbled” onto your site as a blogroll from a friend’s blog and to be honest I only clicked on it because of the provocative title! I’m a Christian too, so maybe I can provide some semi-anonymous perspective on your friend’s behalf. I’ve worked for the same person for 15 years who also happens to be a lesbian. I respect her a great deal professionally but my faith tells me that she will pay dearly in the afterlife. Lesbianism is a sin in my faith, but we’re taught to hate the sin and love the sinner. So even though she may not agree with your actions, please don’t assume that she doesn’t love you. I’m sure at least part of the reason you’ve drifted apart in recent years is because she doesn’t agree with your lifestyle, but didn’t know how to approach the topic. You obviously care for her and are hurting badly, so you owe it to yourself and to her to discuss it. Worst case is you’ve lost a friend, which if you leave this alone has already happened anyway. What do you have to lose?

sorry to hear it. that’s a toughy. perhaps she’s one of those people who feels one way but makes exceptions for people she knows. it doesn’t make it right, though. darn. perhaps you can de-friend her on fb?
